My next mod...(feeler)
Saturday, May 02, 2009 12:54 PM
Well, most of you know I'm FINALLY dropping the vert (pro kits and AGX struts) but I have another new mod in the works. I borrowed CavalierFOXs 02 LS Sport rear, which he had to cut b/c he got a rear for a 95-99, so it didn't have the tail light panels. But I still love the look, and I'm now on a mission to find a better one (with the molded peices) I'd like to find a black one, but if I have to paint one, so be it. Also, debating on cutting the lip for duals.... here are the pics of the rear. C&C always welcomed.

I'd have to move the exhaust over...

I really don't understand why it needed to be cut, just because it's cut on the 95-99 you shouldn't have to cut it to fit. Looks nice though!

I have to say I like it, do it as long as you can find the lip molded into the bumper as one piece. The ones that aren't look cheap IMO.

Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.

looks good, but would look better with an aftermarket muffler. or you could cut off the twin tip at the outlet of the stock muffler, extend the pipe, and put a nice tip. just my opinion, but its your car.

its FOX's bumper. the panels under the tails were originally molded on it, like all 00-02s, but he got a 95-99 rear, which didn't have those panels. The shop he paid to install the kit (yes, he paid someone to do it. lol) hacked the panels off the bumper you see here. Had I known this before he had the kit installed I would've given him my panels, and I would've taken his rear and it would still be on the car today....

I don't mind the 03+ rears, but that flare under the tails kinda bugs me. If I find a nice one, I definitely won't pass it up! haha

? Its the stock 00-02 LSS rear, the lip is held in with tabs, not molded.....

Haha, thanks! Like I said, I just want to find a better bumper, and it'll be done! XD

I'm giving the bumper back, but I definitely plan on changing up the exhaust though. Thinking nice dual pipes in that cut-out, or cut the lip and do dual oval tips...

Thanks! And too bad you didn't keep it! Just seeing how awesome your sedan is, I'd LOVE to see what you could do with a vert

You need to move the muffler so that it's in the right spot for that lip, then cut those tips off and put this on:

when the car left us, we had alread swapped my old exhaust over from the sedan, put an intake on it, installed an 00+ rear bumper (minus the ls sport lip), and I had my konis/goldlines waiting to go on. we had a running issue surface that we weren't able to track down and after dumping some money into it without being able to fix it we sold it.

the bad part is... it ended up being the f'ing fuel pressure regulator. oh well... gf loves her outback sport wagon that replaced the vert.
