RIP Silver Z, and introducing....
Monday, May 04, 2009 7:05 PM
First a few of the good ol' Silver Z in her prime:

Then her demise:

After the deer I fixed it mostly but lost interest in it and it developed a very nasty tick. Friday on the way home it died once, but made it home. Where it sounded like there was bolt bouncing around in every combustion chamber. I didn't want to put the time or money into fixing it.

So after a little searching I found this.

White '04 LS Sport, 5 Speed, Sunroof, Eco, all the options, 48,000 miles.

Got it home and got my seats in, the Sylvania Silverstars, and got the fogs tinted yellow,

Thats all I got done tonight.

Plans are as follows:

Remove pinstripe, sidemoldings, dealer stickers, as many badges as I can.
Swap over suspension, wheels (will be going bronze), exhaust, short shifter, reverse glow gauges, A pillar gauges,
CD player, speakers, trunk set up. I also have 2 new toyota sidemarkers, not sure if I am going to put those on or not?

Now, I have a few questions, I have the solid lower motor mount and upper insert on the LD9, can those be swapped to the ECO?
Also, can the big ugly gold bowtie on the trunk be taken off?

I think thats it for now, check back for more updates!

Yeah, I am both looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time.

Really liking the Eco so far though!

I forgot how tall the stock shifter is, can't wait to get the shorty in!

why dont you just swap over the whole trunk from the silver Z .. and get it painted to match the ls sport? gonna do a front end swap?

Maybe at some point I will do that. Otherwise I don't mind the light bar, just really dislike that bowtie. I have an idea for the lightbar to make it look a little better.

Cool, thats what I thought, but wanted to make sure before I just try to pry it off.

lower mount can be used but upper is different.

i would contact lzm and see if they would be willing to trade you an eco mount for your ld9... if not maybe they would sell you just the top portion so it would work.

like the new car! should look real good with your rims in bronze!

I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.

Thanks, I can add another part to this list for swapping.

Yeah, its kind of sad to see the silver one just sitting there. But its time to move on, I had fun with it and it was a great car. Put 100,000 miles on it in 5 years and only had to replace the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and the thermostat.

Stock, tinted amber.

Do a search for metalcast should get you how to do it.

Well, just got in the house. Got the Silver one almost all stripped down except the suspension and the exhaust.

Got the shifter mounted in the white one and got the wheels put on. Tomorrow is removing pinstrip and badges.

My buddy has friday open at his stereo shop so hes gonna give me a hand putting everything in and hopefully get the suspension swapped this weekend!

A litte update, got the wheels on, and got the pinstrip and the molding removed on one side.

I really like the dark wheels on it, but think bronze is the way to go!

Thanks for looking!
