Hey everyone. You'll be seeing more updates from me cause I finally got rid of dial up! haha That didnt take toooo long. Anyway, I have the next week off on holidays for one reason only....to work on my car. I had today off as well so I got at it (there hasnt been very much progress lately due to the fact its like living in the UK; it rains every friggin day. I got my headlights to line up a bit better, I was having a problem with the driver side light pointing down. I think I got that fixed and I managed to start making the center grille for the car. Sorry but the pic of the grille trimmed is really bright so its really hard to see the grille shape.
Green tape = fiberglassing fuuun!
the base of the grille glassed. (dont mind the lines...they were roughed in)
and the grille base trimmed.
I also managed to get some of my new engine painted. Im planning on getting the supercharger housing nickel plated instead of the usual chrome plated. Its a very common finish in the aviation industry and I dont think the auto industry uses it enough.
Its pretty much the same colour as the original bagdfire, but just a touch darker. Ive always regretted not going back to that colour and Ive found that a large majority felt that I was known for that colour. So I decided to go back to it.
it could work! get some headers on there before u slap that motor in the car! hehehe.....

the first time I had my car bagged was in 2002 and the car was that colour
You really dont need to give me the line "if I like it, it doesnt matter what anyone else does" I dont think Ive ever built a car with the thought of what everyone else thinks. Thats why I think I push the envelope a bit when I build my car.
I love Jeffy bagdfire...
and I love headlight conversions lol
good call on the nickel plating... should be interesting to see the contrast.
the lines look bang on!
we'll get pics one day... are you estimating to have this complete by November 2011?
haha i have a jdm front end teggy

youve got some mad skills....cant wait to see more of this project
that certainly is a unique color for the engine parts, but as long as they match the exterior i think youll be able to pull it off well.
Tight w0rk man! Keep it m0vin!!!!
That motor swap is going to be sick, I'm having a hard time picturing the nickel finish, but it definitly sounds unique. I love the front end and the color choice.
Im planning on bringing the grille just past halfway on the healights and then I'll work the hood down to meet it. The nickel finish is generally the stage before the chroming process. It has a slight gold tinge to it. I think it looks very classy. I might even get my wheels nickel plated as well, but we'll see how things go.
Nickel plate your tools while you're at it.... you dont use them enough lol
hey jeffy did isaak bring you the harness this weekend???
JBO since July 30, 2001
I havent been able to catch up with him in a couple weeks Matt. Perhaps I'll try to meet up with him at some point with week. As for the other Matt.......you're officially off the Christmas card list!!
Just came in to get a bite to eat so I thought I'd post another pic of the progress. Today I've been working on the driver side of the car tryin to get the ledge under the headlight finished up a bit better.
man this car is goin to look sick when its done, i really like the head light swap.
Looks good buddy. Im also liking the drivers side wheel tub.

ouch
haha... motivational speech
it doesnt look like much but I got a bit accomplished today. On the driver side of the bumper, the ledge for the headlight looked too high due to a warp in the bumper. (soundspeed special I guess) I glassed the section in front of the ledge to make it more symetrical with the passenger side, then added some long strand and then some filler.
Heres the pics...
after the long strand was added
the foreman Brian making sure everythings running smooth
and how I left it for the day.
I like the look of a more rounded ledge, so I might do a bit of work to the passenger side as well to even it out. That will be tomorrows job along with working on the grille and the section where the fender and bumper meet on teh driver side.
Well I see the boat isn't doing its job anymore... what the hell Jeffy!
