Well last Friday a guy drove up from Miami to have us do some work on his 97 Z24 with 145k. Had to remove the head to fix some cam tower bolt holes that were stripped. Installed new gaskets, and a few other goodies. On with the pictures.








This was after a few hours on Friday night and the car put to rest

Saturday morning started with fixing dirty head





The owner decided to do some painting on the cam tower, later wished he would have done the rear.


While putting the car back together we found this brown box that had some stuff in it. We decided to use to see how it turns out.








Now it is getting a custom tune by me. I have found yet another 97 Speed Density file. That is 2 in 3 weeks.

After we got it together we have a few issues. One being the timing chain tensioner. I hate the 2 piece design and will never use one again. We had 2 brand new ones that would not work.

Took a couple pictures of the 2.


The 1 piece that I like. To find one at the parts store you have to ask for a 96 2.4.

is it just me or are the intake ports unusually massive? maybe its just the carbon??

so the one piece actually came with the 'tool' to hold it back for installation? lol i still have my 'custom' made one i did up like 8 years ago hahahaha

They head had preniously had porting done to it.

Yes the tensioner came with the clip to hold it. I will get more pictures tomorrow of the car.

hahahaha Sorry, but the pad in front of my garage is only 25 x 30 and with my 4 J,s and Johns 2 J,s and Val,s well someone has to park in the grass ... And as for the junker Van well it has 298k miles and still runs great (just cant beat a 318 dodge V8)
