ecotec's for $20...lol

I'm having an issue coping not being able to play with something, so I am toying with the idea of picking up a shell and playing again.

Yep clutch set up. So i got the motor and clutch assembly(which only has 46k on it) for $20 .

So the plan is to build the motor then swap it and the 5 speed set up in at the same time. Still have alot of parts to gather but its a good start

nice pickup

sr's are overratted though. swapped 240's are a dime a dozen here in phx and imo theyre not worth the cost/time/labor involved.id rather have a build/boosted ka24 then the sr20

I'm not going to ruin another members fun of telling everyone about his project 240.... but you would be surprised how cheap and efficient you can swap and build a car. Not getting into details on the drive train, but building the stock stuff would have cost the same or more easily. Not everyone just does an SR swap and spends a crap ton modding it...

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Maybe I should've started a thread on the 240 lol. The car was a mildly built KA-T when we got it. Had a blown head gasket that we where hoping to just fix , but after tearing the motor apart we found the cam and crank journals to be scored on top of the cylinder walls being TRASHED! So the motor was SHOT to say the least. After doing some research on rebuilding the KA versus's swapping the SR it was a little more for the KA with having to clean up the turbo kit to. So SR it is.
