The Cavy update.....will I break my 14.8 mark?
Saturday, January 09, 2010 3:23 PM
I have been working on this beast for a while, shes parked for the winter, as I am debating on what clutch I want, head (modded and P&P), modded HO cams, towers modded (with reliefs), 33mm lifters, bronze valves, waiting for my Pistons(hopefully coming soon), I need to start getting malibu handles, and projectors but on with the pictures on the Cavy, comments are welcome as some things still hasn't grown on me, and I know shes not cleaned ( I don't mind cause she is going to be detailed after I redo the seats)....

then the match-up of my car vs girlfriend's car after I put in the 3400 after I fix the damn ABS

u need to right click the picture, select properties, the highlight and copy address(url), then insert that between. with no spacing. or in the reply box there is a button. u just had the wrong url.

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.

The only thing that will help your time is a new car.

lol, I second that, Brad's car needs a huge upgrade/replacement, I have been trying to get him to get another J thats already Alberta registered but he has his mind set to keep this one, when would be alot easier to just swap @!#$ over to a new one in better shape and donate his to wreckers, If they will take it........lol

Thanks Poser I like it to but the rear needs some repairs that I just haven't gotten around to yet cause to busy with the build, work and custody problems

Max are you really wanting me to go to my work with camera just for some boring head, cams, and tower pics? lol, they aren't even painted since haven't figured out a color, and I just have to get my ass to wreckers for new block to do since I have all the stuff at work except to bore/ hone the block.

if wasn't for the bad storied I heard about flywheels I'd have one of those to, but going with excedy clutch since alot of guys out here are running those out here and doing good times, after motor shes getting brakes, and maybe a cherrybomb for res.

Us guys in the jco tried to beat some sense into him for years before he left. Not realyl sure why, but he refuses to get rid of that hunk of train painted crap.

according to castrolraceway.com (the one in aj's registry that he ran the 14.8 at) it is a holy hell high 2200 ft above sea level. at the elevation paul ran the 13.6 at (600) i would bet you'd be running low 14's, if not high 13's.

i am intrigued. get this bitch built. i want to see 13's at that level.

I can't afford a new one, that's the main reason it hasn't gone yet, possibly getting new this weekend, will need some help with this one though AJ, dunno yet. . . I'm far from being a virgin AJ. ugh.

judging by what Brad just said, and you dropping almost a second, with my less weight and improvisations, if I was closer, I should technically do about the same for time improvements. if not better, going from the 16.8 stock at Sparta, then the 17flat here. . ..

Lookin' good! Should be running a little faster with the new toys. Makes me wonder what you'd run at sea level. I think the pillow in your back seat is keeping you down though. Take that out of there and 13s, here you come!

lol, that pillow is replacing the carseat that is now in the green sunfire, I can't wait to get done, I might remove back seat and install harness bar that I might be building, and going 4 point harness, cams are easy to lighten if you have patience and motivation, and I may want to run no system, carseat, new clutch, and slicks lol, if I had even a better clutch and slicks I bet at least 14.4-14.5 could of been possible lol, but then again I was lazy and was still in my work coveralls lol, looked funny Ford coveralls in a GM car lol, Her car though will be fast, Im doing same as my old 3400, cams, p&p, knife edge crank, turbo, 3 inch exhaust, and 100 bottle, I ran good times but cant find the slips I miss that car, Brad you didnt tell me your poor ass was getting a new car, I thought the beretta deal went sour?
