New Wheels and Suspension, Same Old Beater...
Sunday, May 16, 2010 9:44 AM
I got new wheels and tires for the beater. 17x9 +30 wrapped in a stretched 205/50/17. I think this is probably the most agressive fitment ever put on a J-Body which also inspired me to trade in my Eibach Pro-Kit springs for some Eibach Sportline springs. I also added a set of BlackJason Forged aluminum lugs.

On with the crappy cel phone pics...

Bring on the hate!

I personally love it, it needs to go lower now!

if they were 18's and the car was 2-3 inches they would look fantastic. as it sits it just looks odd and out of place.

the stretched tires look like something you'd seen on a beaner hydro mobile with daytons on it. sorry not a fan.

rims are pretty neat though and i LOVE those lug nuts. link?

I knew 90% of the people on this site would hate these, which is what inspired me to do it lol!

I forgot to mention in my first post, i am also using 3mm wheel spacers on the rear to help with the retarded super sunk in rear wheel look on these cars. So the actual offset of the rears is +27mm.

I wish the car could go lower but it just can't, and being too low to the ground isn't my reasoning... Unfortunately J-bodys are just not ment to be lowered and this about as low as they get before they become unbarable to drive. I'm sure people will argue that but hearing your struts bang as they bottom out on every bump you hit is not the way a lowered car is supposed to be lol.

After spending a lot of time on the 240 web sites over the last couple years these tires on my cav don't even look stretched to me at all. You should see some of the low offsets and stretches that are typical amoung that crowd.

The wheels, tires and lugs came from www.wheeldude.com

I personally love the way this set up looks. It actually has settled some after those pics, it had only been on the ground about 15 minutes and drove around the block to my local abandoned school when i snapped those.

agreed ignoring the stretched tires and them sticking out the car an inch, the rim and lugs look good.

they look alright. Be careful not to come to close to curbs or potholes. If you had the correct size tire that wouldnt be a problem as the tire would take the abuse not the rim.

I love it. I'm digging the stretched tires on it. I know your not going any lower, but It would need to be lower to look 100% perfect.

I love the fact your beater is nicer than 90% of cars on here

Wish you didn't sell me your sportlines now? Haha.

Wax residue is probably not a high concern. It wouldn't be for me if I had that 240

still not digging them... it'd look better if the wheels were an inch or two bigger. there's too much sidewall IMO.

wheels and lugs look great though... just needs a less stretched tire or something that actually takes advantage of a 9" wide wheel

love the style of stretch and low offset and stance and getting flush but this doesnt do it. maybe its because its not lowered enough or me not liking the style of wheels but something is odd looking. hopefully this isnt what mine turns out to look like. sorry. A for effort tho, something just doesnt work with what you tried.

Needs 18s or 19s

Fitment is excellent, however I too hate the lack of stance to compliment them!

I thought about doing 205's, and spacers on my G6 wheels but since I've sold the B&G's, never getting done now.

I love the height, but I also have Sportlines. I do not like the stretched look on any car.
