picked this kit up of slocav off of t2's old cavalier. slocav said he will have a nice build for his car. which starts my interduction to boost. it is only a saab kit but it is a start. yes this and all is still going to be transported over to the 4 door project. but i was asked once i got it on to post pics and vids. so this what i have been able to capture. enjoy. c&c welcome.

yeah i will be finding me someone with one. i know my cousin has a tig welder might also go that route. not sure yet.

thanks everyone else. i am glad to have boost, but i think i want to go with a bigger turbo now. lol hopefully i can make that happen next year.

Congrats, cant go wrong with indigo and boost

As for the welds, looks like you didnt prep the pipes very well. Ive been doing alot more welding with my flux lately and Ive got it down pretty good. Just about as good as a gasless mig

icemike- it was all prepped fine. it just on old worn out welder.lol sadly it welds better on unprepped surfaces. but oh well. when i can get enough cash gathered back up i will probably invest in a new welder with gas. you ain't kidin on blue and boost. lol

david- yeah it will peak out around 15psi at lower rpms. most the time its right around 7-10psi over 3k rpms. kinda the reason i wouldn't mind to get a little larger turbo. you know so it doesn't lose boost at higher rpms when i need it.

md- thanks.

Gotcha, a little grinder action will clean them up fine lol. And 15psi on the saab setup? Im guessing that mbc may be causing it to spike.

yeah. i'll be adding an electronic one later on with other things to. you know building a car never ends.

Sweet man, but yeah... maybe it's because I weld and am not just the once in a while hobbyist with it(well I am now, but I went to school for it, and can do damn good welds), but I can do a million times better with flux. That is NO excuse for how wretched those are lol.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Congrats!! Makes me want to hurry up and get started on my saab install.. I just need a few more parts and i will be getting started. What do you have for exhaust??

yeah i really wonder on what the saab turbo setup actually puts out in torque and hp to the wheels. i'm also going to try to look into or see if i can get a chat going on with someone about turbos. especially the saab turbo being its such a small turbo its self. and try to figure out what levels of boost i can run out of it. i also have noticed that around 3k-4k rpms is when i see boost spikes of up to 15 psi. above 5k rpms the boost drops to 7 psi and lower while the rpms rise above that 5k rpms. it really feels like the car falls on its face. yes this is mostly due to the manual bost controller. as soon as i get a chance i'm going to get it to the track and run it down the track with shifting at different points and see what times i put out. hopefully the track is open this weekend. i have also changed the bov because i think it was cause a little boost bleed off.

jl- thanks. yeah i have no training just alot of playing around with this welder. my uncle has been through hobart school of welding and his job entales him to do it everyday(mostly robotic welding now) and he even said the welder is about a joke. so like i said i deal with it seems to get me by for the time being.
