So, about two years ago, I got @!#$ on an 01 Sunfire GT, dealer sold it out from under me.
But, today, I brought home this beautiful 03 Cavi, 5 speed, 2.2 eco, fully loaded, with sunroof. 85k miles. Got it for $5600.
Feels really good to be a J body owner again. I sure miss my 99 GT, but this baby's gorgeous, and mint. 1 owner, no accidents according to carfax and autocheck.
Question guys. Has anything changed since the last time I was around about 4 years ago? lol. But seriously, any things turn out to be better? Anything to stay away from?
Plans are tint, HID's, Intake Exhaust, and that'll be in the next two weeks. From there we'll get into the short shifter, then start gathering up suspension parts, coilover's, shocks, sway bars, strut bars, etc. Gonna start where I left off on the old fire gt.
Anyway, here she is.
Nice, I also have a 2003 Cavalier, but mine is a base sedan. I used to work at the Lordstown plant during the 2003 model year. So I could have seen your car 7 years ago. mine has 112,500 miles and still runs excellent. I did have to get the rear main seal replaced in April. wasnt cheap to do that but was cheaper than buying another car. other than that ive had it since last October and had no other problems. I got mine for a really cheap price $2,500. but the bad it was in an accident in 2006 and when it was new I found out it was an enterprise rental.
She sure is a beauty. Drives great. Only problem I'm having with it right now is the typical read brake drum bull crap, making that click sound. That irks me so bad.
i need me some lss bumpers
Very nice. The Ecotec, IMO is the best platform to start with. 2.4 Intake Mani swap coming?
99 GT Vert Black on Black / Z24 Seats / RK Sport Header & Downpipe / K&N / Magnaflow Cat
Didn't know that was an option Nelson, but if it is, then yeah, probably will do that. What are the gains like?
Just putting HID's in the headlights. Gonna do a halogen yellow fog light bulb, if I can find one I like.
Thanks for the info on the swap. Looks like injectors, fuel rail, and TB would compliment that, as well as a tune, so that'll have to hold off until after the suspension gets done. I'd like to see what just the mani would do on a stock motor with just breathing mods. Problem is I can't afford to risk blowing the motor just yet. I'd like to make sure she has at least 120k before that happens.
i have a 62mm polished tb you might be interested in
looks like a clean slate good luck man..
If your serious about that TB, shoot me a PM with how much you want for it. Did you have it on your cavi? Is it best for N/A or boosted applications?
looks good, nice pickup, looking at the LSS rear now with just the one exhaust cutout is starting to look wierd to me now that i'm getting used to seeing mine with the dual cutouts
www.driftnamiperformance.com
Dual cut outs would be nice, but I like the look of the single on this LS. My GT looked really good with the dual, but I like the single on this one.
Thanks for the compliments.
definitely a good pick up!
where are you in NY?
I'm in the Albany area. Where abouts are you?
looks nice man good luck with it...
Seriously dude? I'm moving to Troy in a week! I'm in Niskayuna right now. But as of June first I'm gonna live 5 minutes from HVCC.
hahah definitely serious!
PM me and we can talk..
