Not knocking you, BUUUUUTTTTT NOT all pre 03's were Z24's. Case and point, me and a buddy of mine had the exact same car and they were 2002 Ls Sports, that came in later 02 with the Ecotec motors. Pre 02 they were only Z24's but IIRC (and I can be wrong) but 2002 and up (In the US that is) they were only called LS Sport and not Z24.
And the 02 Ls Sports only had a lip kit on them. The bumpers front and rear were nothing more then the 00-01 z24 front bumper with a add-on lip, and the rear bumpers were the exact same bumper from base to Z24, and the side skirts IIRC were the same except again, IIRC the 01 LS Sport sideskirts had that bend in the center of them and would flare out on each end.
Now the 03's to 05's (in the US) had complete bumpers molded for the LSS's and were not a simple add-on lip. Even the side skirts were re-done. Hope this helps ya out a bit. But anything 03+ if it be a Z24 (Canada) or LS Sport (US) are the exact same and have nothing different.

In 2002 (U.S.) there was a Z24 available until mid year available both in sedan and coupe. The LS Sport was a mid 2002 introduction. Both models had the lip kit and fog lamp bumper, but the Z24 had the 2.4 and the 2000+ painted Z24 wheels, the LS sport had the polished chrome wheels (with red bowtie center caps that changed to yellow 03+) and Ecotec. There is no mention of the Z24 in US literature but was produced. Also available was a base model with the sport package which had the lip kit and spoiler, uplevel suspension, but the bumper had no fog lamps, the mirrors and possibly door handles were unpainted, and the wheels were machine face versions of the LS sport wheels. Those just had the 2.2 OHV engine. The Z24 and base sport only had "Cavalier" badges on the decklid, while the LS sports had "Cavalier LS" badges. Only 2002 had the add on skirts on the front and rear bumpers, but the side skirts are carryover iirc.

Lol, no hard feelings, after I re-read what I wrote, I noticed I put the wrong year in one of the sentences. And I knew about the engine differences. I have owned a 02 base model with the appearance package with the 2200 and a 02 LSS with the Ecotec, and now a 00 Z24 with the 2.4. I have never personally seen a 02 Z24 with the ld9 YET. Not saying there not out there, but I just haven't seen them. At least here in Chicago, I was told they were not available when I went and bought my second 02 and that they were only the LSS's. Either way, I appreciate the depth you guys went into detail. I was only talking about appearance aspect of them. Not trying to act like I know every single thing about these cars, because in all reality I dont, I just have had my fair share of them, and have owned 8 J bodies since I have been into this scene. Trust me, Im no Lenko lol. But I wasn't really wrong, you guys went into depth about the engines and such, and Im full aware that the 96-01 Z24's came with the LD9, the 95 Z24 came with the 2.3, I never knew there was a 02 Z24 with a LD9 (in the US anyways), But the 02 LSS came with the Ecotecs, and 03+ regardless if it was a LSS or a base came with only Ecotecs. But nonetheless, good job on clarifying that up, and thanks for catching my mistake. I really need to learn to read what I post before I hit the post button lol.
