trunk rattles becuz of bass

I just recently got 2 12'inch subs in my trunk installed. At first it sounded nice now my trunk rattles when i have my bass on. Is there something i can buy and put in my trunk to stop the rattling.

no expanda foam, it wil expand then flex the paint.

Dynamat or a product like it will solve your problem, if you need more search threw the audio forum there is tons of info there.

it might be the vent on the right side of the trunk. that was the issue for me at one point. pull back the carpeting on the right side of the trunk and you will see a black vent. pull it out and you can cover it with Dynamat.

Peace Out!!!

Dynamat is easy to put on if you know what your doing. If not then I'd recomend having it installed by a professional because it's really sticky! Don't use expanding foam, it does exactly what it says, it expands. It actually made the rattling worse in my buddies car and almost separated parts of his trunk lid. If you put dynamat on the trunk lid and you have a remote to open the trunk then the remote will unlock the trunk but it wont lift the lid. If yoru rearview mirror rattles there is a little screw that comes loose. Just keep making sure it's not loose.

I've also got 2 12" subs, zero rattle. I didn't spend a dime either, but i'm not trying to go deaf. Just adjust the rubber stopper things on the underside of the trunk, obviously adjusting them outward (down) so the trunk is more "stiff". Also check your license plate. At the time i got my subs, i only had 2 bolts in my plate, but added 2 more & killed all rattle. Maybe i'm just lucky though because my car doesn't have the other rattles j owners complain about either.

Yeah its my truck lid that rattles, anyone have a picture of what to tighten up? I called around GoHo Audio want $160 to install it and Circuit City said $200 but its not guaranteed that it'll work. I dont have money to throw away, especially something like that. Maybe in the future i'll get it done

You can also try facing your subs toward the cab of the car instead of facing them outwards. So when you open the trunk you'd see the back of the box. I don't personally know if it would work because I had dynamat installed at the same time as my system, but a few people I know have tryed it and they said it works wonders. Let me know if it helps you? Another thing you can try is to pull the back seat down if you can. It may release some of the pressure and help stop the rattling. I know someone who had to actually take his whole backseat out because of the pressure on his trunk lid, but he had a HUGE system. Again, I haven't tryed any of this myself so I'm not sure if it works but I've heard it helps. Let me know if it helps you at all!

could be your liscense plate. Mine rattled like hell so I bought some weather stripping and screwed the plate down onto it

My license plate rattled. I got a peice of foam and cut it out and put behind my plate. No more rattle there

My lid rattles a little, Ive heard of people playing with the latch, I think I might try that too.

I have my subs pointed into my car, it still rattles. Some people will argue against this though for sound quality reasons.

You should learn how to install stuff yourself, instead of having Best Buy or Curcuit city do it. Its cheaper, and then you can truly mod your own car.

LOL I know the feeling. My mirror doesn't fall off at least, lol, but when I have my bass cranked and I look in the mirror it looks like I have double vision from all the vibration, lol.
