Got a B&M short throw shifter and was just wondering when I put it in is the safty thing you lift up to go into reverse going to be gone?... doesn't really matter I'm just curious I guess....well let me know

I have one true love in my life...And my girlfriend sits next to me in it

Not if you keep the knob that comes with the shifter.
If you replace it, you lose the reverse lockout.

From what I've read though, even with the knob that comes with the short shifter, you can just barely get it into reverse without pulling the reverse lockout up... BUT I also read that if you do that, theres a chance of it popping back into neutral by itself.

My B&M is sitting in the trunk of the car, waiting for the warm weather to install
