internal parts needed??

ok, my 97 2.4l cavi has recently been down due to a rod bearing. it sux a lot, and it does need to be fixed. i got in touch with the advance auto parts store near my house, and they said that the sell a crankshaft replacement kit for around $150 i think. the only question i have is what would be the best way to do this job. i have two people who can help me on this. one has built and re-built hit nissan 240 and the other has a 2.2l cavi and has also done work to his engine. the only thing is i dont really know what all to buy as far as gaskets go and stuff like that. if i buy it, they will help me install everything. im also thinking about replacing the pistons and rings as well, and replacing the headgasket being that it has around 13,000 mi on it. thanks for the input in advance.

How old is this car?

Go to an auto parts store and point to the picture as to what you need. I wouldn't be concerned about the parts, I would be concerned about the quality of labour.

Theres more than just buying the parts .. a good machine shop is what the concern is ..
Heres a little list for ya.

Crank kit
Lower gasket kit
Upper Gasket set (These 2 can be found in a conversion set also)
Ket a timing chain
Timing tensoner
Timing guides (all 3 of them)

This should cost all of about $600.00.
Then the machine shop, have then recondition the rods, clean and possible mill the head (get a p&p @ the same time its there already).

Anything I missed Im sure someone will fill in.

Hit 200 NA it broke once, Hit 213 it broke again,
Hitting 300 NA is further away than I thought.

will be cheaper to get a "full set" it is every gasket in the motor, take the block and head to the machine shop, have the block hot tanked (cleaned) hone the cylinders, and cecked... the machine work will dictate the quality of the rebuild... if you don't, you will be sorry.... as far as parts, at a minimum i would get the crank kit, and you should be able to specify a max .010 oversize,, will cost 30 bucks more, but some of those crank kits, get a little outragous, i' do a ring job, your pistons should be ok, but check em to. and then also all your timing parts... and then you should be set...

if you aint looking for performance, go to the junk yard and find a low milage engine. Toss it in. By far the easiest and cheapest.
