ok im getting ready for my exhasut i think and i jsut wnat to make sure i got everything i need to know. so in sequencial order it goes,

1.header
2.cat. converter
3.cat. back piping
4.muffler

what im worried about is a pipe between the header and the cat. converter.does the header connect right up with the cat. converter or what? and will a shop do that piping for me if im getting the rest bent from them? well sry for all the words and thanks for any help.

no, the header doesn't connect directly to the cat. there's a section of pipe that goes between them. the cat is only about half way back on the car, so you'd need that much pipe to go from the header to the cat.

i think most headers out there come with this tube. if not jsut have your exhaust shop make one

if your having a shop do a system for you just bring them your header, muffler and cat. they will do the rest.

Here's my list for my exhaust setup:

(I don't have a header because I'll be using a turbo manifold)

2.5" Downpipe
2.5" In/Out Catalytic Convertor
2.5" Single-In Dual-Out Magnaflow Muffler
2.5" Custom bent SS piping

Of course there's some little things in there, such as the hangers and tips, but I'm leaving no tips for now because when I get my new kit there won't be any visible tips.

a regualr n/a engine doesnt have a down pipe does it? i thought down pipes were for the exhasut end of a turbo. and can anyone explain the resonator to me a lil bit better. its for noise control? is it in the muffler or cat or what? and does it come with or do i buy it separately or what? ok thanks

All engines with manifolds have a downpipe, its the name for the pipe that connects the manifold to the cat.

The resonator is a noise control "muffler" that is straight through and sits between the cat and the muffler.

id personally install the header on stock exhaust, then take the rest to the muffler shop. id bet they'd charge an arm and a leg to install all that plus the header. my $0.02

yea you guys have neglected to mention the resonator without that your car will sound like a weed whacker, basically cuts out the high pitched noise "kazoo on crack" type sounds, dont go without one

50-60 bucks it goes between the cat and the muffler usually right after the cat in the straight section in the middle of the car go to magnaflow.com and check online retailers and then select from that list hot exhaust
