Air Intake Question
Sunday, February 20, 2005 9:02 PM
I posted in teh maintaince forum, but I think this is better...

I bought a Bombz Racing High Flow Air intake off of Ebay for my 1997 Pontiac Sunfire SE 2.2 . I installed it, and it works great. On the old intake hose, there was a place that a plug was inserted. I took the plug out and then the new intake went in. I think that the plug was the air flow sensor. Now that that is not plugged up, the check engine light comes on. What should I do with the plug so that my Check engine light doesnt come on?

You have to have the IAT sensor in the intake somewhere.

if it didnt come with one, you may have to drill one and place it in

Would I have to take the sensor out of the stock one and put it in the new one? I can I go buy one?

just pull the ruber plug out drill a hole in the metal push it in there and plug it back in make sure the hole isn't too big but small enough it fits snug and not too far from the wire that you have to rewire it
