ok ive been reading alot about the HO and LO cams and intake manifolds. what is HO and LO. are they engines in older cars or what. cuz im really interestied in a new intake manifold and throttle body and i figure one of those might be the way to go but ya, i have no idea what they are.

HO = high output LO = low output. try the quad 4's intake manifold and throttle body, im not for sure if will work on your cav. i just remember reading something about that.....

Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

It will work fine, the only ones who have problems are the peeps with egrs (96-99) the HO manifold does not have the egr and this means you need to get an egr blockoff plate and egr simulator, however his profile says hes got a 2001 so should be no problem there, I was originally going that route but ended up getting my hands on the venom intake manifold. Look on the jbody new york ste and go into the library and there is detailed instructions with diagrams showing everything needed for the install. The big advantage of the HO will be the price though, once you know what venom costs you'll most likely be detered.

They are very solid and a used one should be a better choice however you may want to get the port matching plate from somewhere I thought I heard someone else made them for way less money then mantapart. You can call a wrecker and they may have some HO manifolds liying around. They are on ebay alot too thats where I got and sold mine. I use a 62mm throttle but some peeps say its too much but I love mine.

so if i got the manifold, would i have to fabricate a custom intake? cuz my aem one aint gonna work. and if i got a a 59mm throttle body i would be able to connect to that right?

yeah you can just cut the intake you already have or make something up its not too difficult to make an intake for it, I know the throttle should fit just make sure the plate opens 100% before starting the whole install but I believe it should be no problem and even if for some reason there was, then all you would have to do to make it fit is make the opening on the manifold a lil bigger but I dont think that's going to be an issue at all.
