2.2L Vs. 2.4L

This is probably a really stupid question, but are the 2.2L and the 2.4L engines the same block with different bores or are they completely different engines?

Completely different. The 2.2 is an Over Head Valve with a single cam that is in the center of the block. The 2.2 is a Dual Over Head Cam where the cams sit on top of the head and valves. The 2.4 does not have pushrods, the 2.2 does.

Unless you are talking about the Eco, but even then, they are two completely different blocks and engine designs. The Eco is also Dual Over Head Cam.

Interesting... So where do all the 2.4L Guys find their parts. I have been all over the web to find parts but 99.9% of companies only offer parts for the 2.2L. Argg!
