removed emblems...need help!

HELP ME! I Can't Figure This Out.

Well, not sure if anyone can help me with this but here it goes. I removed all my emblem front and rear bow ties and the Z24 on each side. When clean it look awesome and is smooth and there is no residue. For some reason when the car gets the least bit dusty (even if a short 10 minute drive) it sticks to where the emblems once were forming the shape of it.

Why is this happening?.....Like I said there in no residue or anheasive left on the car and feel equally smooth and same colour throughout the car.........

Throw a coat of wax over it where the emblems once were.

Clean the spots with goo gone, then clay bar/polish/wax the whole car

don't worry about the nail polish remover on the paint just dab it on a cloth and rub it over where the emblems used to be and i am sure i wont corrode the paint at all

I have used goo gone and there is nothing there now to clean, thats why I cant figure it out, therefore I dont see what nailpolish will do as there is nothing to clean off.......its a brain teaser.

Googone or lighter fluid.

The same thing happened when I did mine.

Squirt it on, the rub with a paper towel. All better!!

Make sure you rinse it off tho when your done, I dunno if it will hurt your paint over time.

WD-40, I know it's not the best for paint, but it will work, and if it's only used once, there won't be any prob.

maybe if you use a hairdryer or some sort of direct heat to warm the spot and use an adhesive remover. i know it works for taking off the emblems. also, if you have clear coat, try not to use very strong things such as turpentine, it can make it hazy (my dad almost ruined part of my trunk's clear coat cuz he insisted on using something like that). and a soft cotton towl is always good to use. you may also want to try maguire's cleaner waxes. good luck.

Or you can do it the right way... buy some compound (3M perfect it) and use that.

I'm considering doing this to my car as well... only concern i have is the paint being a different color underneath the badges/trim...

It shouldnt be. If the car is well-maintained, the under-moulding paint will be just as nice (probably even nicer) than the rest of the car...

should only be a diff color if someone painted the car..
