Let me first set up some groundwork with one day I was driving home from work in the far left lane and some guy jetted up and started tailing me i was fine with it cuz i was only going 80 in a 55 so i put my blinker on to get right and no one was letting me in so i tapped my breaks to let him know he was a little to close and i guess the guy got mad, he starts getting really close and actually taps my bumper on the highway so now im going 108 to get away from him during rush hour traffic using the berm a lot. yes i would have slowed down if he didnt make like he was going to pull a gun on me every time i let him get close to my car by slowing down. and he would slow down too. yes i would have called the cops had i not left my cell at home cuz its batt was dead. i dont wanna get flak for going 108 anyway so finally i get off at an intersection to go to the police station for help. get stopped at a light yes i would have ignored it had it not been rush hour with mad people everywhere. guy gets out of his car and starts kickin on mine. big black guy. so i get out of my car and tell him to back off. fine it was stupid but i didnt want him kickin my car up. anyway he ends up running away cuz a big construction worker stopped an scared the pee out of him. so cops come and take statements from everyone got the license all that. about 2k dmg to my car. Cops tell me i cant prosecute cuz theres not enuff evidence with 4 witnesses and extensive dmg to my car. i cant get money back for damages either same reason. they dont put out an apv, same reason. anyway so i guess i got dealt a short stick. so yesterday im driving around after work 2am goin to get some food. i drive through campus cuz its shorter and no ones around its 2am. heres wher ei get in trouble. i distinctly remember putting my car in first gear which i cant do unless the car is stopped (99 cavy) then i go through and i swerve a little bit cuz a big bus is making a right turn and im trying to turn left so i swerve right and then back left to turn left and still avoid the bus. heres where a cop turns her lights on behind me. says i didnt stop at the stop sign. which i know i did, im thinkin she thinks im drunk cuz im swerving at 2am on campus which makes sense but im obviously not drunk she knows it i know it. but she gives me the rolling th rough a stop sign ticket anyway! so the point is i was wondering if contesting in court that i have 4 witnesses that a black guy jumped me and attacked my car in the middle of an intersection during rush hour and they do nothing but i "quote unquote" roll through a stopsign at 2am with no one around and i get a ticket? and i did stop i had it in first gear.!!! Questions comment? advise?
You may be able to argue your ticket.
As far as bringing up your story...
A) dont bring it up, you'll get laughed at, if anything
b) dont say "black guy" especially in front of a judge

not sure if im getting this but im assuming rush hour traffic is like 5-6pm right? you got pulled over at 2am for running a stop sign? why would what happened early change anything that happened at 2am? i dont think im understanding your story. also just because your in first doesnt me you stopped. i can be at 10mph and put my car in first.
rolling through a stop sign is illegal. you broke the law, now be a man and pay your fine. and my car will go into first gear at 20 mph, so what gear your in doesn't really matter

you "COULD " put it into first at 90 but the car wouldn't like it.
one incident has nothing to do with the other, pay the fine and avoid court cost.
sounds to me like your being a little bitch about it.... i mean really, your whole post was just one big whiney bitch fest... wtf would a court care about what happened to you ever, YOUR THERE FOR BREAKING THE LAW. A cop says they can't prosocute.. that means with the current evidence...all cops do is file reports. now you take the reports to the DA and get it in the court system. if that all fails. then handle it like a man, or just continue to cry about it...
depending on where the cop was when you ran the stop sign you can probly fight the ticket i have fought two tickets one where cop was behind while rolling through and i won cuz they cant really see if i stopped i did apply brake but might have kept rolling in court i said i stopped completly and it was dissmised but if the cop is in front or two the side youll lose cuz they can see the line and if your cars nose goes down and then slightly back up which is what happens when you stop as for some black guy hitting your car while driving if i stopped and he got out and kicked my car its only natural he gets his a$$ beat with my bat cause where i live we dont care for cops and if there ain one around he would probly be making a stop to intensive care when i got done. i used to keep my bat to the left side of my driver seat till a cop saw it now i keep it in the backseat floorboard but its still within reach

My question is, when the guy was up your back bumper why did you even touch the brakes, my Cavalier slows down pretty fast just letting off the gas? If I get somebody riding my tail lights and I'm hung in the left lane I back off the throttle and slow it up a bit, while still doing what the traffic is or mostly, and wait for an opening to the right. You probably could've found a spot to shift into the other lane without ticking the guy off. There is always a better way to handle most situations once you look at it in hind sight and hopefully it makes you a better driver.
As far as the ticket, the cop mostly like knows that area very well and she knew there was a stop sign there. You might not have seen it around the bus if you were swerving like you said you were. Just pay the ticket and I agree with everyone else, I wouldn't mention the story about the other guy. It doesn't pertain to the ticket. I'd think at this point I'd be happy that I didn't get caught doing the 80 in the 55 on the interstate and having a major ticket against my record. Doing 80 is nuts in my opinion, I occasionally catch myself doing it when I'm by myself going up a stretch of interstate but when I catch it I slow it back down to my 72ish or so in a 65 zone. I do about 63-65 in a 55. Any slower than those speeds in those zones and you get ran over.
