I'm looking to start a new project car. I plan to use a Chevrolet Chevette. I want to use a Cavalier engine w/ S10 running gear. I wanted to know if the 2.4l engine uses the same transmission as the 2.2l engine does. If different, are they atleast interchangeable?
a vette with a cavalier engine.. but why!?
I'm making the back of my car look good first.
After all, Civics need something nice to look at...
^^ lol don't call a chevette a vette

Chevette~!~!
I was gonna buy one when I was younger, but I couldn't get my foot to fit betweent the brake pedal and the hump in the floor. In otherwords, I couldnt' get to the gas pedal.
Guess it doesn't matter, cuz you have to pedal those bastids anyway.
I knew a girl a long time ago who had one. That thing was junk lol. Weren't those the same as the Pontiac T-1000?

what are you that worried about gas milage lol talk about a project not to mention taking a rwd car or a rwd frame a fwd you might as well just buy a cav instead of making an
s-102.4Lvette
what the hell will these people think of next putting an eclipse engine in a cavalier
really though people should just upgrade with in a limit i dont condone putting hightech jap @!#$ in a relativly high tech american vehicle the japs and the americans all worked hard designing these cars according to stress points and subframe mount positions if you try somthing like this and your car goes sideways take some vid footage and upload it on the net so i can get drunk watch it and tell my friends the before and after ill say look at my car now watch this and then this is your car on drugs
the fastest jbody?
Just do like my friend... drop a 86 Buick Grand National engine in there (Turbo of course) with a muncie M-21 tranny behind it. (bell housing was purchased online somewhere) with a complete MSD ingnition system. Only problem he has had is keeping the tread on the tires. Talk about a ballsy car...
Can you keep up?

What are you talking about? I didn't mention anyhting about making it FWD or Fuel Efficient.
Thanks for all the replies guys. As for the reason of using a cavi motor, I want to keep the weight distribution on the car fairly even and not so nose heavy. The purpose isn't for all out speed, but all out performance, whether it's autoX, drag, drift, whatever I decide to throw the car into.
