magnaflow is one of the best from what ive heard.

pacesetter i just wouldnt buy because of how cheap they are.. im not sure if anyones had any complaints but i would just worry.

i have the rksport header and 2 1/4 inch piping from the cat to a flowmaster muffler... it sounds pretty good (cept when i had a leak.. sounded like a harley then), and it seemed to add a bit of power. of course if you do modifications like that the gains arent outrageously noticible.

magnaflow is good, i have a magnalfow muffler and i think it sounds great- i've heard some complaints about pacesetter, and some people say they love it, so its up to you i guess- but just do some research before you make a decision-

My pacesetter header functions very well, wish i got the ceramic one, looks like poop if you really look at it now.

My pacesetter cat-back works good performance wise, BUT sound is lets say a swarm of killer bees attacking a weed whacker, at rpms over 4500. Low rpms sounds good. Don't get the old style with yellow painted tip, paint will rust off.
To fix this get a magnaflow high flow resonator, as long as you can fit under car. 24" maybe. Thats what most people do to fix the problem, i am to lazy to do it yet.

Hope that all helps.

i have a pacesetter header and i love it, but it is a one of a kind ( 3" collecter) i got the ceramic coated one and i also have a magnaflow catback. i would suggest a resonator if your get a catback. they sell stainless steel magna flow ones Here and i was able to fit a 18" one in. i love the sound of the exhaust , no raspyness at all. i hope that helped a bit.

-NEWB ALERT-

what is a catback and resonator? and also what other cars have parts that are compatible witha cavalier? I have a 2003 LS Sport(no sun roof) and i was wondering about all this stuff.

Catback is just short for the amount of tubing that is used, and where its place is on the car, it goes from the cataylic converter on to the back of the car.

And in a way similar to a muffler, a resonator helps to shape the sound as it comes out of the end of the exhaust, I dont know much about it, but i know that it helps to keep it sounding deicent.

welcome to the org
