balance shafts on a 2.4

i seen previouspost of people puttin 2.3 pumps in 2.4 to eliminate balance shafts. anyway im bout to swap out oil pumps but is there anyway to eliminate balance shafts using stock oil pump? if not how hard is putin a 2.3 oil pump in. i never really messed with the oil system on a quad.thanks guys

Not really, since the 2.4 oil pump is driven off the balance shafts. To do the 2.3 pump conversion, you have to drill into and sleeve the oil galley's and plug one up, then you have to press the drive gear onto the crank. After that you either have to modify the oil pickup, or modify the pan.

hmmm i think ill pass.i have that problem with old oil pump housing where they have to much oil pressure and all lifters float so u have no compression.I was looking up the bulletin at work and didnt think i could remove shafts with stock oil pump but wanted to make sure. thanks.
