where can i find factory hp numbers for the 2200, 2.4 and 2.2 ecotec engines. thanks for the help
you always search the Org for those numbers.
the 2200 has about 115 HP not sure on tourqe
2.4 has 150 hp and 155 tourqe
the eco has 140 hp and i think 145 tourqe.
the number are somewhere around there

2200 2.2 has 120 hp 130 tq
the differance in the two is due to a slightly more agressive cam in the 2200 engine
and you can feel the differance my g/f has the earlier 2.2 and i have the 2200 and her car is even more of a dog than mine
but that will al be fixed oncce the supercharger is done this week

I thought the 2200 had a more restricting air filter system or something? I was always under the impression that the 2200 was 115 hp and the early 2.2's were 120. My 2200 always lost to my friends 2.2. Make sure you have the same transmissions (ex, 3 spd). the 4 spd 2200 will be quicker. Either way, they're both slugs though.

1998 - 2002
2.2L 115 hp 135 ft-lbs
2003 - 2005
2.2L 140 hp 150ft-lbs.
I know about the 1995 2.2L since I owned one. My daughter owns a 1998 2.2L, so I know about the ratings on that one.
All this info is from owners manuals and comfirmed on Edmunds.

the 2003 - 2005 2.2 and the ones made in 95 to 02 are different 2.2
the 03 to 05 ones are Ecotec DOHC engines. the others are OHV.
but some 02 Js came with the Eco
