i read the faq for taking out the intake bong and i have my wheel, the gaurd off and all the nut that was stated in the faq. it seems that there's one more nut that's holding it on however. i can't reach the nut because it's tucked behind alot of things. i don't beleive it's holding the washer fluid bin in there. there's a good amount of play on the bong and i can wiggle it around, but it just won't come out, any suggestions?
i had the same problem. ireach back around where i could not see and found out that my bong was still attached with a plastic screw of some sorts. so i took osme wires cutters and snipped off the plastic screw. the bong came right out

I just yanked on it alot and cursed and the such for a while till it finally came off.
Did the same thing to the ac blower resistors but replace the yanking off with bashed the broken one to pieces.
How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.
after a few hours of wandering around thinking of what to do i finally got it out. i had the same problem as 99red except the screw that i found wasn't plastic but metal... oh well, i just took a sawz all to it. heh heh heh. thanks for the help.
i think i had 3 plastic screws in mine. i took off the fender liner and popped out the headlight in order to reach it.
ya i had the plastic screws.. didn't bother cutting or removing them.. if you pull hard enough they'll slide right off.
Lui
yeah, if you pull hard enough it will come out. but i did not feel like pulling

Yep, sounds so simple, but when you really get down to it - its not! Haha, took me about an hour to figure the stupid thing out. I think I ended up taking out two or three bolts and a plastic clip? Then just tugged at the thing until it came.
Whats the benefit of taking that piece out ?
and everyone is talking about the the piece(bong) that goes from the factory airbox down through/inside the fender???
thanks
^^ Ya thats the peice.
If you have an aftermarket intake the only thing your gaining by taking it out is losing .5 lbs.
If you have ur stock intake you can get a little more hp and whatnot by removing it. Taking it out simply gives less resistence for the air going in.

I have stock intake currently, because I am starting with chassis and suspension. I took it out and I could feel a real improvement in the car.
My wife knows very little about performance and noticing the upgrades I do to my cavalier. Did notice this stupid thing without me saying anything, when she drove it.
honestly, this mod is useless.
