I was looking into getting an Unorthodox crank pulley for my 2.4l cavalier, but a buddy of mine said that i needed to rip out my stereo to do so or it will drain my battery when i'm at a stop light. Well i got out my subs, but i still have my speakers hooked up to an amp, i really dont know to much about the whole stereo system thing, but i guess when my friend hooked everything up for me he put the speakers to the amp. So i was wondering if i were to get a crank pulley, and i still have my amp hooked up to my speaker, if it would drain my battery at every stop light. I'm pretty new to the whole engine modding, but i heard these pulleys help out a great deal. I tryed to explain my situation as best as i could so any info on this will b greatly appreciated!
Hey whats up . i got a underdrive pulley on my Cavy Z24 and i havnt had a problem with my car battery going dead at all . had it on for a year now . so u shoudlnt have a problem with a underdrive pulley if u have a system . so i say go for it .
alright man, thanks for the info!
no, the idea is that the pulley being smaller won't spin the alternator fast enough at idle to put out enough amps for a system being run hard. It won't mean it will drain the battery, but depending on your system, it may not push your amps as efficient as when you're moving. But you shouldn't have to worry about the battery going dead while idling.
Yeah, theres thing thing called a capacitor... GET ONE!!
Let me know if you are interested in one. I think we even have a polished one in stock.

Two weeks ago when I checked Jegs, they were running a special offer where it was like $140.00 shipped. But that must be gone now
...
Yes, correct. Install it closer to the amp. Normally within a foot. And it will take the surge pull that your amp creates and be able to have the instant power it needs. (basically the point very simple)
