Show me one...

There are no chips available for 96+ 2.2/2200/2.4/Eco cars. They are not chippable.

Yes there are! I bought this wire thingy off of eBay for only like $15, and they claim it will give me 20hp. All you do is jam it into your air sensor and you're good to go! I haven't taken it to the dyno yet, but my butt dyno tells me they are right.

Hahaha...

Long term use = not good for your engine

I put a stage 3 chip in(not the resistor) and I noticed a huge difference in horsepower. Now having said that, the downside to these chips are the rich air/fuel mixture, the o2 sensor reading and your check engine light almost always stays on due to the bad o2 reading!

Watch out there nah!

stage 3 chip huh? was that for a civic or a j-body? like said before There are no chips available for 96+ 2.2/2200/2.4/Eco cars. They are not chippable.

Re: jet chips?

ok that's enough!!

Get some f*** glasses or learn to read for god sake!!

THERE ARE NO CHIP FOR THE 96+ jBODY!

Whatever people will say about having a chip for a 96+ is plain bs and they are real moron for not beleiving us.

Find your Ecm, open it and look inside. what do you find? NO CHIP!!

a chip go in the ecm not anywhere else. any freaking module that you can find is plain BS!!!

and the next one asking for a chip is a plain moron or a freakin dumbass.

What a real chip look like

That's a real chip that you can ONLY find in the 95 and previous Jbody. 96+ don't have chip and any other module don't work. It has been dynoed before and it took like 10-12 run to get 1 hp.

Another thing is that popular story is that it gives some Hp. It ain't true. The only chip I've seen with dyno result is the FFP chip for the 3.1. all the rest were only 2-3hp more than OEM but some had better timing or rev limiter.

So 250$ for 2-3Hp? you know how to spend money for no reason.

The only reason we chip the 2.3 is because we need the higher rev limiter and setting for the bigger cams. On the 2.4, it would have been plain usesless (if there would have been one in the ecm) because it already have a weak oil pump so going higher in the rpm would help blowing the engine

Do you mean 94 and below? I believe 95 and up are 3rd gens which can't be chipped. I'm not sure if you realized you put that.

He must have meant 94-. 95+ are not chippable, and the only "chips" you find are resistors.

95+ J-Bodies are not chippable, how do people not understand this?

95 and previous can be chip. the only OBDII 95 ecm was the 2.3 auto. all 95 2.2 were OBDI and the 2.3 5spd was OBDI

So 95 can be chip can Mantapart is selling chip for them. Otherwise how can Scott Trend chip his 95 Ecm for his Ho engine?

Mantapart Chips

Note : N body and J body ecm are different.

This is only partly true, the Ecm still has chips in it, BUT THEY ARE NOT SWAPABLE LIKE OBD-I ECM's.
OBD-I = chippable
OBD-II = NOT chippable

95 and older are chipable, obd2 didn't come into playy until 96.....

jet chips are garbage i bought one before i knew cars, it @!#$ with my car so badly i ripped it right out.....

the only thing it does is make your car respond better at any throttle posistion other than wide open throttle, that is where the computer ignores the sensors that the jet chip modifies......

dont buy it learn from the sinrocker, go buy a supercharger from rsm you will get more horsepower per dollar!!!!!!

for Casey.

I suggest starting a new thread what you did above (starting a new topic in a thread) is called thread jacking. but if you read this there are plenty of factors which can determine this.

your driving skill, weather conditions, condition of the car, condition of the driver. Excess weight. track conditions, Tire condition, et cetera

it all varies. keep at it.
