you have a 2.2 ecotec in a 01? you sure its not a 2200? completely different engine, btw, the ecotec has almost the same power ratings as the 2.4 and much more aftermarket support

well my friend who got a cavalier told me it was ecotech but it got 2200 oh the engine

2200 on the engine is the 2200 ohv motor. Your friend is mistaken. If you want a 2.4 a couple of good places to go are

BTW- I've been thinking seriously about putting the 2.4L in myself, and as far as aftermarket goes the parts are out there for it, but they are just a little harder to find- so don't let that scare you off.

you can find a motor at a junkyard a 2.4 or 2.2 Ecotec.
