Pontiac Light water.

Took my car to the dealer the other day and told them that my pontiac light was leaking. and Mr Dumbwrench told me to bring it in the following day for diagnostics so they could figure out where the leak was coming from. (which i already had told him where it was leaking) so they want to charge my $92, just so they can figure it out, and then charge me for the repair that my warranty won't cover. Does anyone know how to fix it? There are rubber gaskets on the lights but i don't know where to get them, or can i just buy the white piece that the light snaps into, cause it looks like it comes off. Does anyone have this problem and can i fix it myself so i don't have to give more money to GM, Thanx in advance.

Couldn't you just put silicone around it or something?

Your light is leaking? It's suposed to be open under there, it can get wet. If you reach up there you can feel the wiring. My car is a '99 and i've never had a problem, it's been washed many a time in those years

The seal on the lights is not keeping water out. when i wash my car water gets up in it. water also gets in my high mounted stop light, might try the silicone though. sounds like a good idea.

heat them up to loosen the glue or leave them out in the sun all day. you need to get them completely dry before you seal them up. if their not dry and you seal them, they will fog up
