i bought the bomz intake for my 2.4. it looked and sounded and performed the same as the aem i have now. the filter is a cheap peice of crap but that can be replaced. the reason i bought an aem was because after about 15000 miles the weld on the bracket that holds the intake to the motor broke. smog was coming up and the cheap intakes aren't CARB approved so i decided to spend the extra money and go with an aem.

GO PATS!!!

If you're looking for a cheap intake go to AutoZone. They have short-ram air intakes and cone filters. the whole set-up will cost you about $35. Turn the intake tube around from the way it is package to install (You will know what I am talking about if you get one). Put the rubberthing on the other end.

its all the same. with something as little as an intake why blow 250 bucks on one. you can get one for 30 bucks and it will do the same and perform the same

The only thing you pay for in a K&N Filter is the name. They are cotton, and washable, so they dont need to be replaced... well so are half the generaic brands... whoopy poop.

see the difference is in the hp and you know that if it is a real AEM or INJEN then you will be able to put it on your car and not worry when you get pull overt hat it isn't C.A.R.B certified. That is all that matters the fake ones might not be carb certified

I just bought one, and it came with a weld in the middle of the pipe... is that normal? because in the picture it doesnt have any weld, it was perfect...
I'm a lil upset... it was to perfect and to cheap to be true...!!!!!!!!

Like is said before there is no reason to buy car parts on ebay unless it is real parts like AEM OR INJEN names like that. when you buy knock offs you get what you pay for. i hope in the next few months that weld doesn't come off or you get pulled over and your engine gets checked and you have to take it off

I dont know why Weapon R (secret) intake have this weld in the middle, the are kind of expensive...thats why i decided to pay a lil more and go INJEN

Ebay is great, as long as you buy from reputable sellers my intake has no weld spots and its not AEM, I think it makes no difference at all.....get the cheap intake and buy somethign else with the extra cash.

I did that with my s10. I didnt even buy the stupid tube. You dont really need it unless you cant get it to mount right in front of the grille.

Neo. I went to Autozone like you said and checked out the whole setup. Saw the pictures of it on your car thought it looked awesome. so that's what I'm getting, looks like the best deal but it's going to cost a lot more than 35 bucks. 39.99 for the tube. 24.99 for the high flow piece that goes on the end and about 35-45 for the filter. thanx for the info. much appreciated!
