I'm the New Guy

Alright, i've been looking at the site for awhile now, and i finally decided to register and ask a few questions of my own. First of all the car is a 1997 Cavi Base 2.2L Coupe. I've done what research that i can, but i still have a few simple questions that i can't find a direct answer for.
1)how many bulbs are behind the cluster, no tach, and are they 194?
2)what is the easiest paint to use on the climate knobs, ive thought that clear plastic hobby paint, you know, the kind that kids use to paint plastic suncatchers with...
3)where is the blower motor and how much of a pain is it to get out and replace, alot of noise coming from it.
4)can't think of it right now, but if it's important, it will come back to me.
Thanks guys, and the site has already been a major help to me.

1 there are no blubs behind the cluster (i think) im thinking its like the aftermarket guage cluster which is just an over lay (feel free to correct me if im wrong guys)

2 any spray paint will work, i prefer plastic kote to paint any interor parts because it has a clear coat mixed in
. but personaly i wouldnt paint the climate knobs i would just make them clear

3 i dont know

4 your welcome

i've read a tutorial on how to change the bulbs behind the gauges to change the color that they light up at night or when the lights are on, and i wanted to swap the bulbs for purple LED's (remember: girlfriend's car). Also wanted the climatye control knobs to light up purple, so i wanted to paint them with some kind of transparent paint.

So i take it that no one has replaced their bulbs behind the cluster, nor has had any problems out of the blower motor? Just trying to get some support, I apologize if i annoy anyone.

I'll try my hand at this, The LED's in your gage cluster can be replaced. You re-move the upper dash to expose the gage pod then you take that apart wich will expose your led's. You do have to remove the LED's, just disconect them, then put in your new colored one's. Assuming your getting them pre-wired you'll have to trace back the existing wiring to make sure that they come on with the proper switch.

As far as the Blower Motor,I'm sure that it'll be a major pain to change out. If I'm correct it's inside the dash at the bottom in the ceter of the dash. It can be done, just alot of stuff to take out. I don't know if there's a post on how to replace the blower or I'd say to check there.

well all the info i've seen so far on the blower is wrong, so here you go

the blower motor is underneath the dash on the passenger side, all the way to the right. it's a black circular plastic box. you say theres noise coming from it? i'm 90% sure its not the motor itself, but just crap inside of it. you'll probably find bugs, leaves, etc, that swirl around in there when you turn on the a/c. there are three screws on the bottom of it, take them out and pull downwards. inside you should see the swirling filter looking thing, and it will probably be full of stuff like i said, so clean it out. that should solve your problems. you will also need to unplug it, the plug is on the side towards the back of it.

No. TL194 bulbs are for tag lights and 3rd brake lights.
