I recently bought a 92 cavy with 200k miles for 250$ My question to you guys is, is worth dumping money into as far as body kit and cold air and basic stuff or should I run it into the ground then trade it in on some thin new. Keep in mind that I am 18 extremly low budget and just graduated High School
leave it stock... if you want intake but nothing else....

B&M Short Throw Shifter
Just drive it how it is... it would suck to stick a bunch of money into it and then have it die on you. 200,000 miles is a lot.

maybe some spinning hub caps but thats about as far as i would take it
cavys can make it to 200.000 miles? Hehe... id say dont put much into it, save your money, then buy a 3rd gen when it dies.

One huge aluminum wing - $200
More vinyl graphics than your ride can handle - $150
Decals for products you don’t even have - $10
500lbs of Car Audio equipment in the trunk - $1500

Getting slaughtered by a KIA - Priceless
Any money you spend on it you will never see back. I wouldn't wrap up any money in it. Just save up for something a little nicer.

With great care and a little luck, J bodies can make it to that high of mileage.
To answer Donald's question...
I would leave it how it is. Trying to build up a car that has REALLY high mileage, even as far as looks, is a little pointless. There is no point in having a body kit if your car doesn't run (unless you want a pure show car that you want to be towed in with LOL).
If you still love the J-body platform, save your money and buy a new or used low mileage 3rd gen J-body. Building a 2nd gen takes too much money to do cause parts are hard to find and most things have to be custom made and fabricated to fit.

Look for a swap if you want to keep the car. www.domesticcrew.com has lots of support and infos.
leaving that engine in and spending on the car.... nahhhhh, that`s toying with your luck.

Even still, I wouldn't want to swap a motor into a 2nd gen unless it's a V6 3.1 Litre motor or a 3800 or something of that sort. Even still...it would be easier to modify a 3rd gen than 2nd gen because you don't have to worry about maintenance. Yeah, he'll have a new motor but then BOOM lines can go, he can have alternator issues etc. It's best to just start over new. That's just my opinion.
