NOS. It's the cheapest and fastest way to get H.P.

say nitrous, not NOS. NOS is a brand of nitrous. that way you wont sound like a complete tool

Jarrod,
i would say do some research into what you want. you need to upgrade interals, feul system, ignition, etc etc if you wanta turbo or charger.
most people start with an intake and a crappy sounding muffler.

Hahn makes a nice turbo kit for ecotec engines. look for oem s/c from gm too, they sell them and even covers them with manufacturer warranty. anyways any boost would be a good idea.

i was not calling you names. if you say NOS around people who have been using nitrous for awhile then theywill make fun of you and think you are a big fan of that rice circus movie Fast and Furious

He has a 2.2 OHV motor, Hahn doesn't make a kit for your that motor and GM doesn't make a supercharger for the 2.2 OHV.

Really your only options is to check out other companies for Turbo kits and RSM makes a S/C for that motor. The options are pretty limited. If you want list of companies for turbo kits, I can find some places and list them for you.

that would be a big help man. i have another question too, would i get any gains if i went with an aluminium manifold and got rid of the ceramic one that i have in there already??
thanks

Well you have to remember, your only going to take in as much airflow as your head will allow. I'd say keep it stock for now. The big key to gaining good power out of the OHV motors is doing some major head-work and getting the proper camshaft to whatever your preparing to do, whether it's boost or staying all motor.

Here are some companies that have turbo kits for the 2.2 OHV:

Cavalier Connection
Cavalier Extreme

Those are the only 2 I can think of right now. If I think of more I'll list them. Hope that has helped.

oh yeah and another one for ya, what kind of head work?? im not all that knowledgable when it comes to that kind of stuff. Now electronics thats my forte. i wouldnt even know where to begin with the head stuff. but again thanks
Re: ideas

Well for more info on headwork, contact Jbody Performance, they can help you alot and they have everything you need to rebuild the head or you just buy a fully rebuilt head off them that is ported & polished. Also ask them about a camshaft that you would want to get for a forced induction motor (since you want to turbo the motor).

Your main thing is that you want to allow more of an air flow. If you throw on a turbo kit with a P & P head, that sucker will breath like no other. Currently I have a P & P head but I have the ECOTEC DOHC motor and plan on boosting. I know thats going to be the biggest help for me and give some great gains on top of having forced induction.

Good luck with the wife...

Re: ideas

you can up the compression, get a different cam, do head work. eitherway you are looking into spending some money

Hell yeah...I did everything except up the compression so far and man I've spent tons of cash.

To answer Jarrod's question, it really depends on how much money you want to spend and how much power you want. It's kind of a broad question.

im thinking around 1500 to 2000 i talked to the wife last night and she sait " youre out of your mind" which doesnt make any sence to me but she is the boss but she will let me spend as much as it would cost to get one. i think that i will go with the p & p head. now to the compression, would that go up with a new cam? and i was also thinking about just getting the 2.0 ecotec, one of my buddies totaled his 03 and he said that hed give it to me for 800. what do you think???
thanks

The 2.0 ECOTEC with the supercharger is nice. If you can get it with the computer, you should be game.
