I am planning on getting a autotrans interceptor but I wanted to get some info on it first, I know that it increases line pressure and increases torque and helps the tranny shift better but what i want to know is what to actually set it to when i install it? I was also reading some faq on a site and it says you can't decrease line pressure after it's installed, is this true? and is there any way at all to decrease it? Also wanted to know if i'm buying one that's been used on a different vehicle will it even work on mine. I mean can it be adjusted for my vehicle. Dunno if this is a stupid question, but would really appreciate it if someone would fill me in on it. much appreciated THANKS
one more question lol, will installing this unit cause any lights to come on, say the ets?
i would set it at like either half way or a little less,,, you might throw a code and it will turn off your traction control if it is to much pressure.... but just turn off the car get out the car and ajust it a little lower those lights come off in a little while at least from what i have seen
I just installed one. It took about 4 seperate adjustments to get it "just right". I do have to say, it is like a shift kit has been installed. It shifts as well as a 5.0 I used to have after a shift kit was installed.
so i guess your saying thats good then lol.
where can i buy an auto interceptor for a 2k2 sunfire?
"Sunfire got stolen, all i have is the J to remember it by"

wont work on your car. more than likely your car is a 3 speed and the autptran dont work on 3 speeds
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Car Customs sells the interceptor... Think Gravana may also. and it only works on 4 SPEED AUTO'S! The 3 speeds are not controlled electrically.
Instlation takes about 30 seconds. Literally, you unplug a cable going to the trans, apply electrical grease, plug the cable into the interceptor, then plug the interceptor into the tranny.
Now when i had one on my 2001 Cavalier, I loved the thing. The instructions say to set it at 50%. Well, that turned on my trac light, so I ended up having it at 25% for daily driving.
Your other choice you have is the B&M Shift Plus. That has an off 1 or 2 seting. Does the same thing as the interceptor and is about $100 cheaper... but you do have to splice into some wires.

^^cept i believe 2k/2k1+ 2.2's are all 4speeds and should work just fine.
Lets put it this way... If your shifter looks like this:
P
R
N
D
3
2
1
Then you can use the interceptor. If it does NOT look like that your SOL
how does the autotrans work if you are moving the @!#$f from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, (i know this dosent put the car into that gear, it keeps the tranny from going higher than that gear)
I'm also thinking about buying it. What I want to know is it worth the $150 I'd be paying, getting it from rk sport? Does it really make that much of a difference?

yes and no.
when i installed it on my fire', my 1/4 mile tims did not get any better, but in everyday driving/racing, it did help out. Whats nice about is in normal driving, when ur tranny shifts gears, there is a lag inbetween, but with this, once it wants to hit a new gear, it goes to the next gear almost instantly. Its worth it, but you can find it cheaper usually. (usually highrev or car customs.)
I finally got my interceptor last month, and I think it's pretty awesome. I would spend some time online looking around for a better price, because I really don't think it's worth the 150. I found a used on on ebay for a total of $46, and it works just great for me, prolly one of the most easy mods ever. That and I did enjoy squealing my tires.
i looked on ebay none are for sale right now, where else is the cheapest place to get one? and leave a link please
Can't really think of anywhere else you could look besides ebay, i thought i saw another site that had one for 129 but I don't remember what site. You really just need to look around online for it. do a seach. and if you keep checking ebay i'm sure one will come up eventually. sorry i couldn't help more
I was wondering if u guys know how to increase line pressure in a 3 spd.
