so i want to lower my 03 cavalier. Im not sure if i should buy lowering springs and try and put them on myself or get them installed. Im also not sure of what type of springs to go with....
1. search
2. read the faq for best info about heights and handling
3. Springs are very easy to install, you just need some tools like spring compresor, torque wrench, hydraulic jack, and more......... But since you are asking this Q, If I were you, I will let a profetional install them.
also If you decide not to install them yourself, any speedshop will charge around $100-140to install them.
good luck
I need a new sig =(
installing springs is real easy. if you plan on getting springs please get struts to go w/ it. read the faq in the suspension forum, it gives you a ton of info on springs, coils, struts and where to buy them
/\ /\ /\ What bagged cav said. You should do struts too, I didn't know this at first but I was told this why My car was bouncy.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
get shocks to go with it. do it right the first time
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
if i install coilovers and only lower it about 1.5 to 1.8 would it be ok to use stock struts
You'll still end up blowing your struts if you do.....

hey, am I understanding this correctly, if I am putting new springs and struts on and they already come assembled then I wont need a spring compressor because I wont be taking any springs off of the struts right?
is it a full replacement, including mounts? if so then no you wont need a compressor. if its just a spring and struts setup that doesnt come w/ the mounts then yes you will need a compressor so you can reuse the stock mounts
Best Advice: Buy quality parts, if you can't install it yourself give it to a professional.
