Dumb question probably, but what would happen if you get water in the engine area of your car? I'm wondering cuz I see the ram air hoods and also hoods like this with open compartments:

and I'm curious what would happen in the rain or snow cuz it looks like the rain water would just go right in in considerable amounts.
I think it would just fall through to the ground. As long as it doesn't actually get into the engine, it should be ok.
When you hit a big puddle at 60 the engine gets kinda wet too. Shouldn't hurt anything other then to get your shinny stuff in need of a polish.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
if you got an intake with a cone filter...that could be a bit dangerous.

He could get a cold air box...
most hoods like that have built in vents under the hood to run the water away from anything. i know water on a hot block is a bad combination. ive had a ram air hood and now an extractor hood and i havent had any problems with either
