possible stupid question, but

I was looking at the stock intake today and noticed on the engine a hole (threaded) that looks like something should be screwed in there but thats empty? I'm just wondering if I am missing something (lol) or that hole is just there for some reason or another: (pic)

i don't believe anything goes there if it's an older J... like the 95-99 or whatever it is that didn't have the expansion box above the throttle body....

That looks like the OHV ( 2000 + )
When i had my 2k , i never had anything in that hole either, and i was wondering about that too. I wouldn't worry about it.

yeah nothing missing

It could be that the same valve cover could have been used for a similar engine to cut costs a bit. Rumor has it that the S-10 4-banger has the same valve cover. With the different vehicle, there would be something that would thread into that spot on the valve cover.

Ah yes, I remember that hole on my 99.

And how similar is the s-10 '2200' engine? Is it any different at all?

I have always wondered what that whole was for too. Like they said, probably for the
S-10
