If my car has a out of date inspection and emissions, will a mechanic work on it?

A performance shop wouldn't give a damn but a regular shop...well...most mechanics I've met are down to earth and will work on the car regardless.

a shop will not turn it down because it is not inspected. if they do, they are pretty much telling you to take your business elsewhere. which is dumb. i know i would never refuse to work on a car because it is out of inspection. why let someone else have your money.

they don't have records of it
doesnt matter. all shops will work on a car to get it up to inspection standards anyway
so of course they will work on it just not road test it.
Right....what do shops do for a car with a salvage title? They gotta take it in. Just go for it.
