Timing or igniton maybe?

93 Sunbird 4 Cylinder. It idles totally rough and when the accelerator is pushed past anything but a 20 second 0-60, it gives me massive feedback. It feels like I've got a misfire or something. I've done damn near a full tune up on it, and still the same problem. Somebody's gotta feel me on this one.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your car except that it's just naturally slow. You have the old 2.2 motor and I'm assuming the 3 speed...I used to have a 90 cav and ran fine (only had 70,000 miles when I got it) but it's just slow, period.

Like Borsty said, too many things could play into why there could be something wrong but it's not going to get much better.

Trust me, there is something severely wrong besides having a little four cylinder. It's not that it's accelerating normally, just at a slower pace, it's that it seems like it running on two cylinders instead of four. I was thinking maybe the valve cover gasket has something to do with it. It's sitting in my backyard with no insurance or tags, so I can't even take it to Autozone and have diagnostics run.

hey check your coils. you are probably running on two cylinders. the other thing ive found with older j-cars is the controller (under the coils) will corrode giving you all kinds of rough run conditions. as always check your basics. fuel spark and compression. the biggest mistake a novice makes is overlooking the obvious.

It could be ether fuel or ignition related. That it to a shop.
