I see a yellow jell, is this what replaces wires. just kind of curious about the change. does the jell have to be changed? what a nebie i am

ECOTEC motors are distributorless...so we have no sparkplug wires.

Look at those cool black looking boots that connect to the plugs. That is your replacement for the wires.
Defined Parts
so when the time comes the little boot is replaced. thats simple.

not all distributor less cars don't have wires, a neon for instance has no distributor but has wires.
only IDI (integrated direct ignition) or COP (coil on plug) ignitions are lacking traditional spark plug wires

That's not entirely true either, my engine is Coil on plug and has spark plug wires.

ok got ya.........i guess i misinterpreted what you were saying......anyways, were spliting hairs
to answer the original question, the "spark plug wires" are the little black boots that attach to the coils and spark plugs, that jelly, i beleive is dielctric grease, and should be applied to new spark plug boots when installed
