i just got my new cavalier..a 95 z24 with the 2.3l in it. I can't find parts to fit this thing though. I'd like to start small and just put in a different intake, but my problem is i can't find any intakes for it. What would you guys suggest? I heard a short ram civic intake will fit in there nicely. What year and model of the civic intakes would fit in my car?
You can interchange parts with the 2.4 motor if you had to. The reason parts are hard to find for it is because it's a motor you don't see often and the last time it was in production was about 10 years ago (1995). If you want to read up more on the 2.3 motor you can here:

u can get basically any intake for it, as long as it clears everything, all an intake is is a way for the air to get in, so there is no diff for short-rams from diff makes/models other than that they are designed to fit in the enigne compartment
my suggestion would be to go to an exhaust shop and have them custom bend you a CAI
congrats on the new car
i hope is a manuel...i think the problem your having is your looking for cavalier parts..thats usually where most quad owners mess up..since the quad only came in the cave for ONE year of its life not many companys make parts specificly for it....in other words..dont look for twin cam parts..they usually wont fit..you gotta find quad parts..most upgrade parts for this engine can even be found in a bone yard...if your looking for CAI yes your right a civic intake will work..they have them at autozone..its a pipe that looks like a j and youll need a cone filter go on the bent end and a 90* rubber elbow for the straight end to connect to the throttle body..installed correctly the filter should fall right behind your battery...best thing i love about this intake is that when i go to the track i can simply rotate it around and it will go straight down to the ground for cold air...but i dont recommend driving it like that on the road lol
