I'm getting tired of the exhaust set up i have now.
I know a guy who owns an eclipse just had a cherrybomb put on his car when he got a dual catback setup. Surprisingly it sounds really good, and now i'm kind of thinking about getting the same.
has anybody on the board ever put one on their jbody before? and do you think it would sound good?

I put it on my 88 2.0. It sounded good on that it has a nice low tone to it. Not very loud but aggressive and deep.
I dont know how it would sound on the newer ones.

That guy probably used the cherry bomb glasspack as an resonator...if he did, I'm not suprised.

Cherry Bombs are junk, they havent changed in 40 years, not worth their weight in scrap.
you get what you pay for.

does the thrush glasspack give you a growl type sound? or the pissed off weed whacker effect
i'm looking for a medium loud growl...i dont want to end up with almost stock sounding exhaust cause that would piss me off.
could you get me some pics of how it looks on your car? and what kinda tip you have

I had a thrush glass pack 30" on my old S-10 Pickup. It sounded good with a deep borla type growl on it. That was with a V-6 though so I'm not sure how it would be on a 4 Cylinder.
...itll sound not quite so much like a WEED whacker, but a little deeper than that. I would personally recommend as using it as a SECOND muffler, as opposed to thw primary. not only will this cut down on sound level in general (trust me, you dont want a loud car, its a novelty for about a week, then its irritationg), but will deepen and mellow the tone. you could get one of these, install it after your catalytic convertor, and put a more attractive muffler at the rear bumper (you can get a nice magnaflow one, any style you like, from hottexhaust.com for about 75.00. i think youll like this set up. let me know if any more ?s.

so you mean a muffler tip on the end with the thrush g.p. in the exhaust...
like the tip i have setup right now?
so if i did do that would i have to have a new catback put on?

Nope. Go to an exhaust shop. After you bought the glasspack. Tell them you want this (insert GP here) put between the cat and your current muffler. They'll cut it weld it and voila instant deep mellow tone.

i replaced my stock muffler with a glasspact. it is deffinately louder than stock, but it is a raspy.
have you guys put them on stock piping???
Just to clarify: the Thrush Glasspack replaces the stock resonator, which I assume is cut out, then the muffler of your choice is put on the end? Is that right? Those Glasspack are inexpensive, are they not?
