removing the fuel rail cover?

hey ... what up everyone .. i was cleaning my engine today and to be honest i was wondering if i can take the fuel rail cover off? that big black cover . i have a 2001 sunfir 2200 .... would it be ok to remove it ? and leave it off my car?? im taking my valve cover off so i can polish it .

You can remove it, HOWEVER, you better have an aftermarket intake then, or else your stock intake wont go back on.

There is 1 bolt on top if i remember correctly, and i had 2 on mine in the back of the cover. 2- 10mm nuts.

yeah i have the weapon r intake .. and i think it would look cooler if i took the cover off ... know what i mean ?? easier access to parts back there. thanks for replying .

go for it, its just a metal thing that gets in the way, less added weight lol. Its been so long since i've had an intake, i dont remember if it was needed or not, but hey, no harm in trying, not like you cant put it back on if it turns out to be needed.

well i took it off saturday and i must say ... for some reason i like the way it looks more now . it seems like everything is easier to get too ...
