If you go to the Team Forward Motion Library you will see that the 2200's do have a tuner tube. The 2.2's do not.
There is no performance increase to speak of. Just a sound increase. If you do other intake mods in conjunction with this, there is a difference.

I believe the 98-00 2200's have a tuner tube cause my 2002 didnt have one but on the team forward motion site they show an older one with it.

There.....pictures for any naysayers.

Thanks Jbody2nr. I just didn't have the time to post those pics. At least someone took the time to go to the link and see the instructions.

Not all 2.2's have them.

Mine didnt. Like I said I would put money down that only the 98-00 2200's have them.

Brian to answer your questions:

1. The bong, also known as the Intake Resonator, is in the inner fender driver's side. It just helps with noise reduction of air going into the intake system.

2. Yes. Your 99 Z has it on.

3. Some people say it does nothing but increase noise. If you look at the 'bong' it is an S shape plastic tube. Taking this out helps make the air going into the intake system smoother and less restrictive.

4. For removal go to this site for simple step by step instructions Removing the Bong

Most everyone takes them off because they are restrictive.

i left the bong in after installing my WAI on my 2002 2200....it sits outta the way, and it takes time to take it out...i just let it sit there as it does nothing.

I believe in order to install a "CAI" style intake, you need to remove all the resonators and bong.

well then just a WAI. so it wouldn't do anything to take it out or leave it in. I'll take it out someday when i get bored
