if i jsut put springs on my car without new shocks, how long with the shocks hold up before i need to replace them with new shocks?
btw my car has brand new shocks since its a brand new car less than 5k on the car.
not very long depending on how much you drop the car. read the suspension FAQ, that will answer a lot of questions you have.
theres no telling when they will blow but they will blow sooner or later.
Take it from me I went the same route you're looking at and it ain't fun. Sure the drop looked great and it was cheap, but it rode like crap and bounced all over the place. BTW I had about a 2 inch drop.

Just cut the springs, you'll love the way it rides (like a rock)...
I lowered my car on sprints at about the same mileage your at now. I went until about 65,000 miles before I switched to koni's. The ride was pretty good until about the last 5,000 miles. Guess I was lucky. You should be good for a while unless you go with cheap coil overs
If you want to be ghetto like that guy, go ahead and cut away!!!!! But you better make sure that every spring is cut perfectly, which I know for a fact you cant do. Another thing, you stock struts are not designed for lowering springs, so what do you think is going to happen... ?
Come on, spend the money and do it right... Or be like every other honDUHH out there on the road!
i was planning on the entire set-up i just wanted to plan fmoney wise as i plan on buying other things as well.
Then why did you make this post if you are planning on getting the whole setup?!
What are you going to put the springs on the stock struts. Then take the springs off and put them on the aftermarket struts? Give me a break, once again... do it all at once!
Do it all at once. Don't install just the springs. The stock struts will blow, it's just a matter of how long they will last. Maybe a week, maybe a year... Save up, and do it the proper way. (All at once)
yeah ill wait for awhile and do it all ill do some other things first.
