Hey does anyone know if it is possible to put a blow off valve on a automatic transmission, without a turbo... if so... how should it be done.... and would it sound the same

You don't put a BOV on a transmission.
A BOV is only for forced induction (turbocharger, centrifugal supercharger IIRC)

heres a step by step giude:

1.) go to ebay search "BOV sound effect"
2.) make winning* bid for this product.
3.) wait anxiously for your gadget to arrive.
4.) unwrap BOV sound effect from packaging
5.) log onto j-body.org and pester us once more on how to INSTALL the 'BOV'
6.) drive really fast with the illusion that the 'BOV' gadget actually makes you 'faster'
7.) get pulled over cause everything blurred in your peripheral vision (like in Fast/Furious) and you werent able to see the cop.
8.) realize maybe getting flamed on the .Org isn't worth and save some money for a nice turbo setup.

*= in terms of a WINNING bid, no one is actually a WINNER when they get scammed on such a crappy product.... happy bidding

First learn what a Blow Off Valve is, what it does and it's purpose then you'll understand why people are making fun of you.

What you are looking for is
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUNAMI-TURBO-NOISE-BLOW-OFF-VALVE-SOUND-SIMULATOR-FAKE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitemZ8020198109QQrdZ1

It is a speaker that will simulate the sound of a blow off valve.

Then this item is a whistle that makes the "turbo spooling" noise in your exhaust pipe.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Fake-Turbo-Sound-Whistler-BOV-Civic-Prelude-Integra-RSX_W0QQitemZ8019777438QQcategoryZ33633QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Both those items would make your car sound like a turbo car. Having an automatic will not make a difference.

ha!! okay heres a newb boost question from me (yes i am thread jacking, no i dont care this thread already hit rock bottom):

in a manual transmission equiped with a turbo and (actual) BOV, the turbo releases pressure during the shift correct?
now since the automatic transmission shifts faster, does the BOV sound different? i have always wondered and never heard an automatic with a turbo and a loud BOV.
anyone want to answer without another flame fest.... thanks
Re: Blowoff Valve

in an auto, the BOV wont release pressure until you take your foot off the gas. your car maintains constant boost, so when an auto shifts its not going to release the pressure until you brake or take your foot off the gas. as for loudness, i think it depends on what type of BOV. correct me if im wrong but i thought that some are louder than others. i know this is the case for my friend's WRX. i remember him buying a specific one because it was the "loudest"

GO PATS!!!
Re: Blowoff Valve
Friday, December 09, 2005 6:42 PM
A BOV goes off when the throttle plate closes. This happens because air is no longer traveling into the engine and compressed air remains in the charge pipe(s). This is why you hear the BOV on a shift in a manual tranny. You would hear it in an auto when you take your foot off the gas, just like ShiftyCav said, because that is the only time the tb closes.

Ebay should have all the parts you need to have the "BOV Effect" but remember, you'll get flamed by alot of people.

Blown.

First off bovs work off of vacuum. Second you should just fart in a whistle. It'll sound better anyway.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and
degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that
nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for

being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than
himself.
