k&n on the way
Tuesday, December 13, 2005 1:08 PM
as the title states i have a k&n typhoon intake for my ecotec on the way(hopefully here saturday), and i was just wondering what i should look out for.

thanks to the search button i know that the intake should come with the clutch resevior relocation bracket, so that shouldnt be a problem. but since i am planning to do the install myself i was wondering if there is any specific things i should watch out for, or be careful to do/ or not do.

i've read that if you're not careful you can stretch out the cable that goes to the IAT sensor, and cause the motor to throw codes.

so thanks for any replies that can help this should be simple install go smoothly and without throwing any CELs

thanks again everyone, i appreciate it

I'd imagine it should be very simple to install. About the IAT sensor, there shouldn't be any issues with it being placed inside your intake because your new intake is in the same area, so that stretching the sensor thing is off. As long as there is no actual damage to the wiring or the sensor itself, there should be no code being thrown.

Good luck with the install.

You are going to love your intake. The install is very easy and the instructions are detailed to your car. Good luck, I don't think there is much to watch out for.

nothing to watch out for, i have the same intake, the sensors and hoses plug right into the same places as they would on the stock tube, no wires to lengthen or anything

my theory: unless you're tearing apart your engine...if you can take it off/apart, you can put in on/back together.

intakes are one of the easiest things to do. did mine in like 5 minutes.

GO PATS!!!
