OK to use cav spark plug wires on a sunfire?
Monday, February 06, 2006 4:42 PM
just wondering, because i needed some new spark plug wires and they didnt have any sunfire wires in stock so i bought cavy wires figuring they'd be the same, but now that i'm home i've been second guessing and figured i'd ask somebody on here.

also i'm using bosch +4's plugs is it okay to run 8.5 mm wire? or should i of gotten bigger?

Lose the bosch and either get AC delco or autolite or NGK, and your car WILL run better. Also, are you looking for 1000+ hp? cause anything bigger then 8.8 is worthless.

You may have just lost $25. Bosch 4's, well all bosch's run horrible in our cars. 1 out of 10 say they are ok, but 90% everyone else disagrees.

Maybe for other vehicles but not on our cars. OEM plugs or maybe Iridiums (like Denso) would be fine.

..the bosch +4s 4 prongs create a shroud over the flame kernal....what they hype as technology actually supresses the spark a bit, and they will misfire sometimes. had em, tried em, hated em, switched to ac delco plats, work better. was thinking of going with iridiums next, though.

I am one of the minority, I had +4s in my 2200 for quite a while with no issues, but just because of all the problems others had i decided not to roll the dice again and went with Delcos since then and in my Z when i got it.

good luck though brother.
