I need an honest answer!

I posted a message earlier in the maint dept about something and no one took it serious but its legit "I have a 2000 z-24 and my odometer works but you can barley see it! Any body know whats up?" Can anyone answer?????

well, if it works, but you can barely see it, it's probably a lighting issue. search in the interior forum, a lot of information in there.

And a word of advice, if someone doesn't answer your question in 1 forum, try and wait a while before posting again in another forum...that's called double posting and against the rules.

Its the LCD display, its not seated well and it does that (which is why smacking the dash sometimes makes it reappear). The only fix is to take the cluster apart (and risk breaking it), or get a new one.

yeah most ppl just get a junkyard cluster as the milage is stored in the bcm its just plug and play no milage worries.. never tried it tho.

that's what mine is like, I perfer it that way, I can't stand my lights on the cluster, and that's just one less light I have to turn down. It's just hard to read when I get asked how many kilometers are on the car

samck the dash. sometimes my lights are dim. i just smack the dash once or twice

I think if I smack it any more I might break something else. Its like working with tupperware!!!! Anyway, I was going to post this question in the "interior forum" but I did'nt want to piss off anyone else cuz I like talking to you guys plus we are all serious about these Cavs thats why I try to keep it real and no B/S!!!!!

yup, just get a new cluster and for your info the milage isnt stored in the cluster so dont worry about it

I know its not the dimmer switch because everything else is operating normally. I think I will just get one from the junkyard when I purchase my gauge overlay! Thanks for the help guys!
