i know a guy that told me he was going to attach a cai filter onto the stock rubber tube and tie it away from the stock intake box thing would that work or do i tell him hes an idiot

My guess would be that it would act like an extremely short ram air intake.

works fine I did that on my car until I bought my intake, just remove the stock air box and put a conical filter on the end....if you have a standard you will have to find a new location for the clutch fluid reservoir. Not quite as efficient as a CAI but it'll do.

i wouldnt expect any performance gain out of a cone filter on a stock intake tube, i just dont see the point, save untill u can afford an intake and just wait. are you bored and just want to work on your car or something??
