Hey there, I've not really introduced myself since I've joined.
I've more or less been lingering around reading other posts.
And from what I've read, alot of you seem to know what you're talking about.
I just bought my 2005 Sunfire in February, so it's still pretty new to me.
I've not really modded anything yet, but I have a few plans for the stereo first, because it lacks all power. I mean, if I turn the bass above +2 it sounds like the 6x9's in the rear are going to explode.
The other big annoyance are the fog lights.
I can't really understand why they will not remain on by default like other cars.
I'll have them on before I turn the headlights off, then the next time I get in and turn my headlights on, I have to press the switch again.
I would really like to have them come on everytime I turn my low-beams on.
I'm not sure if all of these models do this, or if something is wrong with my switch.
I've had a lot of cars(and trucks) in the past, but out of all of the 2.2's I've driven, this Ecotec seems to have quite a bit more power. I don't particularly like having to shift into third on the automatic to have any power because of the transmissions trend to shift into the highest gear(for fuel economy, I assume).
But like I said, I'm fairly new to this car, but I can help with alot of problems, I've did many modifications the right way and the rigged way.
In the past I've had the following vehicles and I may be able to help some:
1990 Cavalier (base) 2.2L Automatic
1991 Cavalier (RS) 2.2L Automatic
1985 Ford F-150 4x4 300ci 6cyl. Manual transmission (4 Speed)
2001 S-10 ZR2 LS (loaded) 4x4 4.3L Manual transmission (5 speed)
2003 Nissan Sentra (loaded) 1.8L Automatic
2001 Saturn SC2 1.8L Automatic
and my wife has a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero 2.2L Automatic with ABS and ETS
My current 2005 Pontiac Sunfire has power windows, power locks, tilt steering, cheap ass stereo, a/c, and no ABS or ETS. It's got about 13,000 miles on it but I've only put on about 1,500 miles myself.
Yeah, I bought it used, but I got a good deal on it.
I needed something good on gas and good on the wallet because of my upcoming growing family.
Going to be a daddy soon, so I have to be able to buy all of this baby stuff and well, you know.
I'm an easy guy to get along with and will help however I can, but I do take constructive criticism. I try not to tell anyone anything wrong but if I do, I won't get offended by someone correcting me.
